ORIENTATION FOR NEWLY ADMITTED STUDENTS
Fresh men and women of the Institute of Professional Studies for the 2010/2011 academic year have been taken through a two (2) day each thorough orientation for degree and diploma students respectively. Opening the orientation programme, the Rector of the Institute, Professor Joshua Alabi implored them to make a conscious effort towards being a part of the Institute’s growing process.

Outstanding among his speech was emphasis on the payment of fees. According to him, he has had to address the issue because the student movement in recent times has raised certain concerns about the subject matter.

IPS RECEIVES DR. KWAME NKRUMAH OUTSTANDING MERIT AWARD

The West Africa International Magazine, a leading sub-regional publication has honored the Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) and the Rector of the Institute, Professor Joshua Alabi with the prestigious Dr. Kwame Nkrumah Africa Leadership Award.

 

The awards also described by the magazine as “the highest African honor any distinguished achiever can aspire for”, went to others including the Volta Regional Minister, Mr. Joseph Amenowode and Aarie Abayome, a once Nigerian Presidential Aspirant among thers. read more>>

IPS EVENING SCHOOL

The objectives of the Evening School are:

  • To offer the existing mainstream Degree programmes to people (especially workers) who do not find the lecture hours of the mainstream convenient
  • Make IPS Academic programmes more accessible to a good number of people
  • Make extra use of the academic facilities of IPS

"The duration of the Evening School is the same as that of the existing Morning and Evening School programmes.  Fresh admissions into the Evening School begin at both Level 200 and Level 300.  Hence, the duration of programmes in the Evening School is three (3) years."....read more>>

IPS WEEKEND SCHOOL

The Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) recognizing the problems and difficulties many workers face on the existing Morning and Evening Schools has deemed it fitting and proper to introduce Weekend School with effect from August, 2009. Some of the problems faced by the student workers are:
  • Late arrival at lectures
  • Physical and mental exhaustion by the time they arrive at lectures
  • High course load, etc.

All these problems adversely affect their output and eventual performance on the programmes.It is hoped that the introduction of the Weekend School will go a long way to address these problems faced by students workers. read more>>
