ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

General Requirements
The Institute shall admit candidates with different academic backgrounds to the Bachelor Programme.  Candidates are admitted to Programmes at the beginning of the first semester in August/September.  The main categories of candidates to be considered for the Undergraduate Programme in Accounting, Business Adminisration, Banking and Finance shall possess the following qualifications:

 

(i) Senior Secondary School/WASSCE Graduates
Holders of Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE)/ West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) of the West African Examinations Council as follows:
Passes in Core English, Core Mathematics, Core Science and any other three Elective Subjects with an aggregate score of 24 or better.

(ii) General Certificate of Education
Holders of General Certificate of Education/School Certificate of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) with credit passes in six (6) subjects including English, Mathematics and a Science subject at the ‘O’ Level. 

(ii) Professional Qualifications
  • Holders of recognized professional qualifications (ICA-Ghana, ACCA, CIMA, ICSA, CIM etc) may apply for consideration into levels 200 and 300 based on levels of qualification.
  • Holders of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) with six (6) passes in stage two including English and Mathematics and three (3) passes at the stage three 
  • General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE) with passes in six (6) subjects including English language and Mathematics
  • Post Secondary Teacher’s Certificate

Other equivalent qualifications may also be considered. Applicants may be required to go through a screening and selection interview.

Mature Students

 

Mature students with a minimum age of 30 years who do not necessarily satisfy the above standard requirements for admission but have reasonable educational background, professional experience or have demonstrated ability for academic work, shall be considered for admission.  Such applicants have to pass the entrance examination of the Institute and an interview.

International Students

 

International students with qualifications equivalent to those above may be considered for admission. They would be required to show evidence of proficiency in English Language and to go through a screening and selection interview.
