Applications are invited from qualified persons for admission into undergraduate and diploma programmes (Level 100 entry only) of the University of Professional Studies,Accra (UPSA), Legon for the 2011/2012 Academic Year.

 

1. HOW TO APPLY

Applicants may buy application packs that contain serial numbers which will enable them to apply for the programmes of their choice on-line at www.admission.ips.edu.gh

    ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

     

                West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)/Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE)/General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE)

    Passes in Core English Language, Core Mathematics, Core Integrated Science and any other three elective subjects with an aggregate score of 24 or better.         

     

      5.  DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

          MORNING (7.20AM-3.20PM) & EVENING (4.00PM-9.00PM) SESSIONS

     

    • Diploma in Public Relations Management  (See Note 2)

        ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS 

                CATEGORY A

                West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)/ Senior Secondary School     

                Certificate Examination (SSSCE)/General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE)

     

    Passes in five (5) subjects including Core English Language, Core Mathematics, Core Integrated Science and any two elective subjects with an aggregate score of 24 or better.

         

          CATEGORY B

          Diploma in Business Studies (DBS)

    Passes in four (4) subjects at the Diploma in Business Studies (DBS) level

              

    CATEGORY C              

               G.C.E. Advanced Level

               Passes in any two (2) subjects at the GCE ‘A’ Level plus a pass in General Paper.

              

    CATEGORY D

    Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE) 

    Passes in any three (3) subjects at the ABCE level.

     

    Note 1:  Applicants who qualify under Categories B, C & D must have in addition passes in Core English Language, Core Mathematics and Core Integrated Science at WASSCE/ SSSCE/GBCE or credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any Science Subject at the Ordinary Level. 

     

    Note 2: Applicants for Diploma in Public Relations Management must pass an entrance examination and an interview conducted by the Institute. The date for the examination and interview would be announced later.

     

       6.      INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS

    International Applicants may be admitted on the basis of qualifications from their home countries, for which equivalence shall be determined by the National Accreditation Board (NAB) of Ghana and submitted to the Institute. Evidence of proficiency in English Language will be required in the case of applicants from non-English speaking countries.

    8.         CONFIRMATION OF RESULTS

    All applicants must request the West African Examinations Council to confirm their examination results directly to the Institute.

     

     9.        COMPLETION OF ON-LINE APPLICATION FORM

    Completing the Application Form is the first step in the selection process. Applicants are therefore advised to read carefully instructions in the admission brochure before the completion of on-line application form. A change of programme after the submission of application form would NOT be allowed.

     

    10.     SUBMISSION OF SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

                All completed Application Forms should be sent by POST and NOT delivered by hand.

     

    All applicants must submit the big EMS envelope enclosing the following to the address below not later than the closing date of Thursday, 31st March, 2011.

     

      • Certified copies of all certificates
      • Two (2)  endorsed recent passport-size photographs
      • Birth certificate
      • One (1) small self addressed EMS envelope(enclosed in the application pack)
      • Declaration form
