HISTORY OF IPS: Establishment of the Instiute
The Institute of Professional Studies was established in 1965 as a private professional training institute, and was later taking over by Government in 1978 by the Supreme Military Council Decree (SMCD) 200. The Institute was subsequently re-established by an Act of Parliament (Act 566) in 1999, as Ghana’s only public institute mandated by law to offer both Degree and tuition for Professional Business Programmes.
